Azure Active Directory Integration with Unifed

You can integrate your Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) with Unifed to sync users automatically. This guide will walk you through the setup.

Before You Begin

• Log in with your Unifed Admin credentials.

• Ensure you have Admin access to your Azure AD tenant.

  Keep the following details from your Azure AD App Registration handy:

  • Client ID
  • Client Secret
  • Tenant ID

Steps to Connect Azure Active Directory

Step 1: Configuration

1. Log in to your Unifed Admin portal.
2. Select the tenant where you want to sync the directory.
3. Under Features, click Directory Sync.

4. Click Add Directory and choose Azure Active Directory.

   Enter the following details:

   • Client ID* → Example: 80809-32123-3123-213-321312
   • Client Secret* → Example: 80809-32123-3123-213-321312

   • Tenant ID* → Example: 80809-32123-3123-213-321312

     (Optional) Enable Auto Deletion for Users.

   • If a user is deleted from Azure AD, they will also be deleted from Unifed during the next sync.

👉 How to Get These Details from Azure

1. Sign in to the Azure Portal.
2. Go to Azure Active Directory > App Registrations.
3. Click New Registration (or select an existing one).
4. Copy the Application (Client) ID.
5. Under Certificates & Secrets, create a New Client Secret and copy it.
6. Go to Azure Active Directory > Overview and copy the Directory (Tenant) ID.
7. Make sure the app has API permissions for Microsoft Graph → Directory.Read.All and User.Read.All.
8. Grant Admin Consent for these permissions.

Step 2: User Mapping

• Map Azure AD attributes to Unifed schema attributes.

Example:

• userPrincipalName → email
• givenName → firstName
• surname → lastName

Step 3: Policy

• Define sync conditions (Org Units, groups, or attributes) to filter which users are synced into Unifed.

Step 4: Scheduler

• Choose the sync type:

  • One-time sync (manual).

    Periodic sync:

    • Every hour
    • Daily at a specific time

Step 5: Sync & Manage

• After setup, users will be synced into Unifed with Onboarded status.

  You can:

  • View the Job List.
  • Perform a Manual Sync anytime.
  • Update your Directory Configuration as needed.
